Promotional Surfboard Planning & Process

Promotional Surfboards are Ideal for Year Round Branding!

No matter the time of year, surfing is always a relevant activity and lifestyle theme.

Summer Planning for Promotional Surfboards (Northern Hemisphere)

Although promotional surfboards are ideal for year round branding support, some customers prefer to introduce them at the beginning of summer.  If your needs include summer planning see the timeline below as an aid for your specific beginning of summer surfboard introduction.

Summer Planning Timeline:

 Process:

  1. Create Graphics - graphics can be supplied or we can assist you with this process.  Templates can be provided for specific board styles, shapes and sizes for effective graphic creation.
  2. Produce Pre-Production Sample for approval before beginning mass production.
  3. Produce Second Pre-Production Sample if necessary - most often only one sample is needed for approval but for customers who want to make changes or adjustments after seeing a first sample there will be a need to allow additional time for a second sample.
  4. Production - mass production of order quantity.
  5. Delivery

Timing:

Allow 10 weeks for delivery from approval of pre-production sample and receipt of 50% deposit for first time customers.

Terms:

New customers will be required to submit credit information and need to be approved for terms.  Most first time orders require a 50% deposit and balance due net 30.  Any deposit requirement exceptions are based on the size of a company and their credit standing - we reserve the right to use and make judgment regarding credit approvals.

Important Things to Know About Promotional Surfboards:

Surboard production is a craft that involves some automated processes and some hand work processes to ultimately create beautiful works of art.  The polyester resin used in conjunction with fiberglass to create surfboards can sometimes affect the colors of inlaid artwork.  Therefore and unlike printing on paper or silkscreening on t-shirts it is difficult to get exact color match results with artwork and logos that are laminated under fiberglass and polyseter resin.

Although great care is taken in the making of surfboards, the craft of laying fiberglass, pouring resin, sanding and polishing can sometimes result in slight irregularities or blemishes.  Blemishes of this type are usually minimal and usually only present on a small percentage of surfboards in an order and are often barely noticible.  Surfboards that have a small blemish related to the production process are normal and they might be in with a shipment of promotional surfboards (blemishes are not being referred to here as dents, dings or cracks of which should never be present in finished surfboards).

Tiny pinholes that are barely noticable are sometimes present on the outer surface of finished surfboards.  These pinholes are normal and a result of air bubbles that form in the polyester resin when it is poured onto the fiberglass when in its liquid form.  The tiny pinholes are typically more visible on darker colored surfboards as they can fill with a light colored buffing compound used during the surfboard polishing process.  Although we always take great care in the craft of producing and delivering beautiful promotional surfboards it is important that these aspects of production are known and understood.
